After a string of flops, Chiyaan Vikram is now trying to redeem himself with his forthcoming flick, Kadaram Kondan. Directed by Rajesh M Selva, the film also has Akshara Haasan and Abi Hassan in pivotal roles. At the promotional event of the film, producer Kamal Haasan revealed that Kadaram Kondan will be on par with Hollywood standards.

Ahead of the film's release, it is rumoured that Vikram's film is an official remake of French film, Point Blank. A report published in an entertainment portal suggests that Kamal Haasan had secured the remake rights of the flick several years ago.It is also said that Kamal wanted to do the film, but he couldn't take it up because of his political commitments. Since he couldn't do it, he is said to have passed on the script to Vikram.

However, the makers of Kadaram Kondan haven't reacted to the rumours. An official confirmation will be out in the coming days.It is to be noted that Rajesh M Selva's debut flick, Thoongaavanam starring Kamal Haasan is also a remake of French film, Sleepless Nights.
Kamal Haasan, who has bankrolled Kadaram Kondan, has lauded Vikram. He said, "Not every actor has the ability to pull off such roles with much aplomb. Vikram is one such actor who can be effortlessly stylish. He is the ultimate hero. The audience needs to support the right kinds of films. If you don't support a good film, it will confuse the actor and his decisions. Do not let it happen anymore. If you (audience) had not supported Vikram."
