The excitement for Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt is tremendous and this is evident by the fact that several shows have been fast-filling. The film is all set to be released on September 9 and today, Ranbir, Alia and director Ayan Mukerji, posted a video, wherein they announced that a special pre-release show of the film will be held in Mumbai a day before release – on September 8. Moreover, the trio assured fans that they’ll be present at this screening..

Now, with just days left until the release, a review for the film has made its way to social media. This review is by Umair Sandhu, a guy whose reviews in the past have been the polar opposite of what the final fate of some Bollywood films were. For the unversed, he called Race 3 ‘blockbuster’, Zero ‘simply best’ & Prithviraj ‘terrific’. Read on to know what he says about the RK film now.

Talking to his Instagram stories, Umair Sandhu – a blogger who claims to be having access to some overseas censor board and posts film reviews on social media accounts, states that Ranbir Kapoor & Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra lacks soul. In his first story he wrote, “#brahmastra is also high on VFX and a couple of sequences are well implemented.

Well, we are sure this movie review will come as a shocker to many fans. Talking about lead actors Ranbir and Alia and their performances, he wrote: “#ranbirkapoor looking confused & even don't know what's he doing but #aliabhatt performing better than him! She is looking cute.” He added that the film is high on VFX and some scenes are well implemented, whereas the songs are terrific. Will this negative reviews by Umair Sandhu, an overseas film critic and analyst affect Brahmastra?

Even if he gave Brahmastra a bad review, there have always been doubts regarding the veracity of his assertions, thus his remarks are unlikely to have much of an influence.

On the other side, a segment of the audience has called for a boycott of the movie Brahmastra. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have insulted the Hindu religion on many occasions, according to online reports. People thus want the movie to be a financial failure

Interestingly, they didn’t give any details of the venue or the show timings. Ten minutes after Alia Bhatt posted the video, the official Instagram handle of PVR Cinemas revealed that this screening will be held in their property at Oberoi Mall, Goregaon East, Mumbai and that bookings are open. What happened next stunned the makers and the exhibition community.

Bollywood Hungama, “The tickets for this show were sold out in just 4 minutes. We couldn’t believe our eyes. Mind you, this is a 315-seater screen. We expected the tickets to be sold within an hour or so. However, in under 5 minutes, the show was house-full! Of course, this was due to the fact that audiences would get a chance to see Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt live. But we can’t deny the fact that the movie has generated tremendous excitement among moviegoers and that was also a strong factor.”

The pre-release screening of Brahmastra will be held in the P[XL] screen. It is a much-in-demand audi due to its wide screen size.
