The much-talked-about and heavily promoted Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Singh starrer JugJugg Jeeyo is all set for release later this week on Friday. Not surprisingly, the Raj Mehta directorial has fast become one of the most keenly anticipated releases of recent times. In fact, the Dharma Productions and Viacom 18 production saw advance booking for the film open a week before its release. Bollywood Hungama has been tracking the advance sale of tickets to better understand the box office potential of the film.

As expected, JugJugg Jeeyo has sold around 27,900 tickets for the opening day [for its Friday shows] at three key multiplex chains in India, namely, PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis as of Thursday at 10:30 am. While the rate of advance bookings has been good so far, compared to the previously released Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the film has seen just over 50% booking rate as compared to the earlier release.

According to the data received by Bollywood Hungama, Jugjugg Jeeyo has sold 16,000 tickets at PVR, followed by 8,000 tickets at Inox and another 3,900 tickets at Cinepolis. While the film has already recorded these sales for the opening day, it remains to be seen whether the spot booking rate on Friday shows a better trend. But, when compared to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the film has not been able to surpass the Kartik Aaryan starrer as it has recorded around 53% ticket sales for Day 1 as of Thursday at 10:30 am.

Bollywood celebrities attended a special screening of JugJugg Jeeyo in Mumbai recently, and have given the film a thumbs up. The family entertainer stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, and revolves around two couples of different generations on the verge of divorce.

Karan Johar took to Instagram and shared several celebrity reactions to the film, from actor Neha Dhupia, filmmakers Siddharth Malhotra and Sharan Sharma. Neha wrote, “There is something about watching a great film before the release, this being one, you can share what a great film it actually is. Juggjugg Jeeyo is all things wonderful, and funny and entertaining. Each one, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor are all so good,” she ended the post by calling KJo a ‘game-changer’.
