Within a matter of hours, the long-awaited Maamannan will finally make its way to the big screen. One of the most anticipated films of the year, the Mari Selvaraj flick stars Vadivelu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Fahadh Faasil and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles.

While its gripping trailer offered a glimpse into the film, which is expected to provide a compelling and emotionally charged cinematic experience, Tamil superstar Dhanush has now showered praise on the film, lauding it as an exceptional piece of work.

The actor asserted that Maamannan is an emotion. He further noted: “A big hug to you Mari. Vadivelu sir and @Udhaystalin have delivered a very convincing performance. Great work from Fahadh and @KeerthyOfficial. Theatres are gonna erupt for the interval block. finally

@arrahman sir 🙏🙏♥️ BEAUTIFUL.”

The actor’s tweet has already caught the attention of cinephiles, further heightening their eagerness to watch the film. Dhanush had, in 2021, joined forces with Mari Selvaraj to create the phenomenal Karnan. One of the most significant films of recent times, Karnan was both a critical and commercial success.

Amid reports that Maamannan will feature a never-seen-before avatar of “Vaigai Puyal” Vadivelu, actor Keerthy Suresh had recently confirmed this and emphasised that the film will mark the long-awaited comeback of Vadivelu.

“I saw a flashback scene of Vadivelu’s character in Mamannan and it was amazing. In this film, he takes on the central role, depicting a character deeply entrenched in a serious atmosphere. This is a role that he has never done before. Maamannan will mark Vadivelu’s comeback,” Keerthy said during an interview with Cue Studio.

During the audio launch of Maamannan in Chennai recently, Mari Selvaraj revealed that Thevar Magan is the reason for the making of Maamannan. “When I watched Thevar Magan, I was in pain and confusion. I didn’t know whether the film was right or wrong, but it made a huge impact on me. Many directors became filmmakers after watching Thevar Magan, and that includes me. But when I saw Thevar Magan, I saw Periya Thevar and Chinna Thevar, and I wondered where is the place for my father in here. That’s the origin of Maamannan. Esaki character in Thevar Magan is what Maamannan is about. What if Esakki becomes Maamannan? That’s what this film is. Sorry sir (to Kamal), I got a bit emotional. Watching Maamannan with Kamal sir is one of the biggest moments of my life.”
