Randeep Hooda has been making waves in social media for his directorial debut Swatantra Veer Savarkar based on the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. The film is going to be released on the big screens on March 22 and ahead of that, Randeep broke the internet after he shared a picture of his physical transformation for the role. Fans were quick to call him ‘Indian Christian Bale’, since the Hollywood actor had undergone a similar transformation for The Machinist.

On Monday, Randeep Hooda posted a monochrome picture of himself in front of a mirror, looking extremely emasculated and thin. Hooda was shirtless in the same snap, as he stood with his phone in hands to capture the image. Fans were surprised to see this epic transformation. One of them wrote, “Damnn our own Christian Bale.” Another one commented,


“Nailed it. Christian bale of Bollywood.” Someone else said,”Wow Randeep bro proud of u.” A fan stated, “Indian Christian bale.” Another one wrote, “Indeed the most hardworking actor ❤️.”

Randeep recently visited Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak’s memorial and house in Ratnagiri on March 14. The actor was accompanied by the cast and crew of Swatantra Veer Savarkar and uploaded the pictures on Instagram. Actress Ankita Lokhande, who will play the role of Yamunabai, was also present with him. Randeep wrote in the caption, “Visited the house and memorial of one of the tallest leaders of our freedom struggle Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak ji, one can still feel the energy of revolution where young Veer Savarkar and many got influenced and galvanised to take part in the Swarajya Movement and the struggle for independence.” Hooda added that he also saw the first flag of Bharat hoisted by Madam Bhikaiji Cama in 1906.


Besides Randeep and Ankita, the film’s cast includes Amit Sial, Apinderdeep Singh, Mark Bennington, and others. Anand Pandit Motion Pictures, Avak Films and Legend Global Studio have produced Swatantra Veer Savarkar which will be released in Hindi and Marathi.
