The excitement around Leo's release makes it clear that it's going to make and break several records at the box office. The film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj also features Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan and Arjun Sarja.
Recently, superstar Rajinikanth also talked about Thalapathi Vijay and Sanjay Dutt's film Leo and said, "I pray to God, that movie should become a huge hit."
In order to make the release a grand affair, Seven Screen Studios Production had filed a petition before the Madras High Court requesting to allow the film to be screened as early as 4 am across cinema halls in Tamil Nadu on the day of its release. However, the court refrained from from passing orders regarding the request for 4 am shows.
Leo Release and Review Live Updates: The much-anticipated release of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay-starrer Leo hit the big screens at 4 am IST on Thursday, putting an end to the hype and anticipation surrounding the movie, it also answered the question whether Leo is part of the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) or not.
Leo screenings began in Kerala and Karnataka as early as 4 am. The FDFS of the film in Tamil Nadu started at 9 am even as the Puducherry government gave permission for 7 am shows, the film’s FDFS starts at 9 am in the national capital of New Delhi. Meanwhile, Leo’s Telugu premiere has now hit a roadblock as a City Civil Court on Tuesday passed an order to withhold the release of the film until October 20. The order was passed after Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainment approached the court and claimed that he has the rights to the title ‘Leo’.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Leo has already generated Rs 34 crore in day one revenue. As Leo marks the second collaboration between Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj, particularly following the latter’s pan-India success with the Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram, expectations are soaring for the movie. Also starring Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin and Mansoor Ali Khan in key roles, the film’s music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth recently extended his best wishes to Leo. Rajinikanth said, “I wish the film a huge success.” He added, “I pray to God the film should become a huge success.” Tamil Nadu minister and actor Udhayanidhi Stalin also came forward in praise of the film. He called Vijay ‘Thalabathy Anna’ and gave a thumbs up to him.
